2016 Pongal Thiruvizha - Contest Entry
Registration for Sakkarai Pongal and Kolam Contest on the Event Day at the event venue itself.
Help celebrate 2016 Pongal Thiruvizha with family and friends.
We are looking for participants to register for Sakkarai Pongal and Kolam Contest.
Both these contests will be run on January 30th 2016 at the venue itself. Participants will cook their Pongal on the venue and submit them for the contest.
GATS committee will review and help you in your efforts for making this a great event.

Sakkarai Pongal Potti Guidelines
சர்க்கரைப் பொங்கல் போட்டி விதிமுறைகள்
1. Contestants must be a GATS member in active status.
2. Deadline for entries is January 28th, 2016.
3. Timing for competition is from 1pm to 2pm on event day.
4. Competition will be for Sakkarai Pongal only.
5. Scoring is based on taste (75%) and presentation (25%).
6. Sakkarai Pongal should be prepared during the event and should be capable of serving 5 adults (judges) and enough to provide samples for 25 people from the audience to taste.
7. Contestants shall bring their own vessels, spatulas, paper plates, spoons, and tissues.
8. Contestants are responsible for cleaning their areas and must pick up their utensils by 4:30pm.
Kolam Potti Guidelines (கோலப்போட்டி விதிமுறைகள்)
1. Participants could be from 1 to 3, for each entry
2. The theme for this year competition are "விழாக் கோலம்" [Celebration]
3. Entries must be received before 12:00 Noon on Jan 28th 2016.
4. Registration may be closed earlier than Jan 28th ,if enough registrations are received by then.
5. Timing for the competition is from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on the event (Jan
30th 2016)
6. Scoring is based on Theme, Originality/Creativity, Presentation ,
Completeness and Gracious professionalism (200 each).
7. There should be an additional ORGANIC ingredient other than Kolam
powder /Sand. For example you can use Rice, sea salt, flower , leaf , fruits, dry fruits etc in addition to the Kolam powder.
8. Total size of the art shall be limited to 4 feet by 3 feet.
9. Contestants must bring their own supplies and cleaning supplies.
10. Contestants are responsible for cleaning up their art/kolam before the dinner time.
