GATS 2019 Pongal & Kolam Contest - Program Entry
Let’s celebrate 2019 Pongal Thiruvizha with family and friends.
All interested participants please register for Sakkarai Pongal and Kolam Contest Both these contests will be conducted at the venue. Both Date and Event Timing will be emailed.
Theme for Pongal Event - மருதம் (Marutham)
GATS - பொங்கல் திருவிழாவிற்கு வாங்க...ஒன்றாக சேர்ந்து பொங்கல் வைக்கலாம்
Please note that this is not a contest.
Guidelines:
- 1. Participation is open to all GATS members. Non-members are welcome to participate with a fee of $10.
- 2. Participants are requested to bring their own Pongal paanai, mixing spoons and gas burner.
- 3. Ingredients for making Pongal, serving cups and spoons will be provided by GATS.
- 4. A group should have a minimum of 3 members and no more than 5 members to make Pongal in one pot.
- 5. Please arrive at 11.45 am to collect your materials at the venue.
- 6. Cooking time is between 12:00 - 1:00 p.m, so that people can be served pongal as they come in for the event.
- 7. Participants are responsible to bring their own cleaning supplies and clean up their area after them.

gatamilsangam.org by Jan 27th, 2019 to ensure proper planning
Entries are limited, accepted first come, first serve.
Kolam Potti Guidelines (கோலப்போட்டி விதிமுறைகள்)
- Contestants must be a GATS member in active status
- Participants could be from 1 to 3, for each entry
- Deadline for entries is January 27th, 2019.
- Registration may be closed earlier than January 27th, 2019 if enough registrations are received by then.
- Scoring is based on Theme, Creativity, Presentation and Completeness (25 points each).
- Total size of the art shall be limited to 4 feet by 3 feet.
- Contestants must bring their own supplies.
- Contestants are responsible for cleaning up their art/ kolam
- Contestants must bring their own cleaning supplies
